Amazing Ride?

It's long past time for an update here and, since no one else has taken the leap, you get me again. If you haven't heard, Phil Koeghan from the Amazing Race is biking across the country to raise money for MS. He's scheduled to ride from Des Moines to Iowa City on Tuesday, April 21, and from Iowa City to Davenport on Wednesday, April 22. See the Web site for free registration info. Weather permitting, I'm tempted to escort him out of Iowa City.

Also, Friday noon rides from Clark Racquet Center at Coe will begin soon. The ride is on if the projected daytime high is 60 degrees and there's no precipitation at the time. We've also been invited to join the Lizard Kings on their Thursday night rides.

They usually leave Sammy's about 6:30 p.m. Thursday evenings and ride to The Red Frog and then to Jersey's and back down to the Chrome Horse. Some people make an evening of it. Others just meet and ride.

Saturday June 6 is the Miller Rock and Ride. I'll be out of town for a wedding, but it starts at the Chrome Horse. More info can be found on Bike Iowa at:
